There are numerous projects that we consistently work on every year. They tend to cross Sponsorship and Ways and Means committee activity.
PROJECTS
CRAFT FAIR
The Friends of the Littleton Library and Museum Craft Fair is held annually on the first Saturday in October on the scenic grounds of Ketring Park. Dry Creek Sertoma
has a food booth at the event which serves as a fundraiser for the club.
ARAPAHOE SANTA SHOP
Tha Arapahoe Santa Claus Shop is a non-profit all volunteer organization that has collected and distributed toys to needy children since 1959.
Dry Creek collects toys for pre-school age kids and volunteers to setup and help distribute to the families who come to the shop.
FREEDOM WEEK
For over thirty years, Denver-metro Sertoma Clubs have sponsored an essay contest entitled, "What Freedom Means to Me." The Denver-area Sertoma clubs sponsor schools to have eighth-graders write and submit an essay to promote an awareness of how their lives have been enriched by the idea and promise of freedom. Winners are honored receive a scholarship check.
SOAP BOX DERBY
The Soap Box Derby is a family oriented event in which children and their parents participate in the greatest amateur racing program in the world. The Soap Box Derby teaches youngsters teamwork, perseverance, the spirit of competition, and basic construction skills. The Denver-area Sertoma clubs sponsor this program through committee work, volunteering, and donations to facilitate this family worthy program.
WESTERN WELCOME WEEK
Western Welcome Week is an independent stand alone 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that relies on community generosity.
Dry Creek Sertoma has a food booth selling grilled corn on the cob at the event which serves as a fundraiser for the club.
FOOD DRIVES
Integrated Family Community Services has several events that we help with, especially their food drives, like the packing of Thanksgiving food boxes that are given to needy families in the community.
